Dr. Joseph G. Mayo is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing
in General Orthopaedic Surgery.
He accomplished his undergraduate studies at St. Olaf College in Northfield
Minnesota from 1972-1974; the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis BA,
Magna Cum Laude, Philosophy from 1975-1977; and the University of Minnesota,
St. Paul BS, Magna Cum Laude, Biology from 1977-1979.
Dr. Mayo received his Medical Degree from Mayo Medical School, Rochester
Minnesota in 1983. His Residency in Internal Medicine took place at Mayo
Graduate School of Medicine, followed by Residency in Orthopaedic Surgery
also at Mayo Graduate School of Medicine. He completed his Residency in 1989.
Dr. Mayo believes all patients should be treated with caring and compassion.
He states, “Many of my patients have been with me for ten years and
are like an extended family.”
Dr. Mayo is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
He is a Member of the American Medical Association, State Medical Society
and the State Orthopaedic Society.
