Daniel Duggan, D.O. is a Fellowship trained, Board Eligible Orthopaedic
Surgeon practicing in Laguna Hills, CA. He dedicates his practice to General
Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine, specializing in Arthroscopic and Reconstructive
surgery of the Knee, Shoulder, Hip, and Ankle.
He grew up in Newport, RI, working as an ocean lifeguard, and later completed
his premedical training at the University of Rhode Island. He was honored
as an Atlantic 10 scholar athlete and NCAA division I swimmer. He also
competed for Rhode Island’s water polo team.
While at the National Institute of Health (NIH) in Maryland, Dr. Duggan
collaborated with researchers at the National Cancer Institute. He has
published articles on various Orthopaedic topics and has received multiple
awards and distinctions.
Dr. Duggan attended medical school at the University of New England in
Maine and did a year of general and plastic surgery in Pennsylvania prior
to completing his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at the University of Medicine
and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ). He did an additional year-long Orthopaedic
Sports and Arthroscopy Fellowship in California prior to beginning practice.
Dr. Duggan has served as the athletic team physician for the University
of California, Irvine, as well as the interim physician for US Beach Volleyball
in Southern California. He currently serves as the head team physician
for Laguna Hills High School and is frequently seen evaluating athletes
on the sidelines.
Throughout his medical training, Dr. Duggan has remained active in running,
swimming, sailing and surfing. He continues to surf throughout Southern
California and competes in triathlon and prone paddle races.
