Dr. David Kim graduated from Stanford University with a B.S. Degree in
biology and psychology in 1991. After obtaining his medical degree from
Stanford in 1997 he completed an orthopedic surgery residency at Harvard in 2002.
He finished his fellowship in shoulder reconstruction at Harvard Shoulder
Service of Massachusetts General Hospital/Brigham and Women’s Hospital
of Boston in 2003.
Dr. Kim was also a Fellow in sports medicine with the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic
Clinic, Los Angeles, in 2004.
“During his tenure at Kerlan-Jobe until the present, he has worked
with players of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Los Angeles Lakers.”
Dr. Kim is board certified in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine and
has licenses in both California and Massachusetts to practice medicine.
He has been practicing in Huntington Beach for eight years, specializing
in sports medicine, arthroscopy, shoulder and knee surgery.
His affiliations are Hoag Orthopedic Institute, Orange Coast Memorial Medical
Center, and Newport Center Surgical.
He serves as team physician for Edison High School and consults for several
local college athletic programs and professional teams. He has been selected
as one of Orange County’s Physicians of Excellence for 2012, selected
by the Orange County Medical Association and published in Orange Coast
Magazine’s “Top Doctors” issue.
In his free time, he cherishes spending time with his wife and three daughters.
He enjoys the southern California weather, especially while playing basketball,
golfing, and mountain biking.
