Dr. Mir is a board certified orthopedic surgeon, fellowship trained in
combined neurosurgical and orthopedic spine surgery. He specializes in
Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery.
He received his BS in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from the University
of California, San Diego, graduating magna cum laude with Distinction
in Biology. After attending the State University of New York Health Science
Center’s School of Medicine, he graduated cum laude and was elected
to the Alpha Omega Honor Medical Society. He then attended orthopedic
surgery residency at University of Illinois at Chicago, where he gained
extensive training in treating spinal conditions such as complex spinal
deformity and scoliosis, including childhood scoliosis, at the Shriners Hospital.
Dr. Mir specializes in a wide range of cervical, thoracic and lumbar spinal
conditions, from stenosis, fracture, infection and scoliosis to revision
and complex reconstructions. His conservative, minimally invasive approach
to spine puts the emphasis on thorough, accurate diagnosis and individualized
treatment to meet each patient’s needs.
He states, “With every one of my patients, the ultimate goal is restoring
movement without pain, which can often be achieved through non-surgical
techniques such as therapy, medication or spinal injection.”
When surgery is necessary, Dr. Mir employs advanced microscopic technology
with proven efficacy to produce the most optimal results. He also emphasizes
education throughout the process of each case, actively involving his
patients in their treatment plans and recovery.

In his spare time, Dr. Mir enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter.
He is an avid tennis player, enjoys water sports, who also practices yoga
and plays the piano.
