Dr. Todd W. Peters is a fellowship trained orthopedic and spine surgeon
with a specialty interest and focus in minimally invasive spine surgery,
minimally invasive joint replacements, and regenerative biologics.
Dr. Peters returns to Orange County after ten years in Vail, Colorado,
serving some of the most prominent athletes in the world. He is recognized
as a national leader, innovator, and instructor of his fellow physicians
in minimally invasive surgical techniques.
Dr. Peters brings his vast experience and expertise in Minimally Invasive
Spine Surgery as a Founding Member of the ONE Brain & Spine Center.
Since less than 10% of spine and neck injuries require surgery, Dr. Peters
is dedicated to the “VIP Patient Experience” including a comprehensive
approach of education, patient history, and necessary lab imaging (X-rays,
MRIs, and CT scans). When surgery is the best solution, Dr. Peters emphasizes
the benefits to MIS, such as small incisions and operating in a smaller
environment, which reduce tissue and muscle damage. MIS requires a surgeon
highly familiar with the anatomy, techniques and surgical procedure. As
an expert in MIS, the patients of Dr. Peters are afforded the benefits
of a less disruptive technique, with statistically shorter recovery time,
less pain, decreased occurrence of infections, and quality long term outcomes.
Dr. Peters continues to be involved with the medical community, publishing
peer-review articles and conducting educational presentations in the area
of orthopedic, and specifically, minimally invasive spine surgery. He
is also a nationally recognized leader and physician instructor for the
newest spine surgery techniques, performing procedures ranging from simple
endoscopic surgeries to advanced deformity corrections. Dr. Peters teaches
Dr. Peters is committed to research and advancement of his field, dedicating
significant time in research labs developing new procedures and medical
technologies. His advancements in minimally invasive hip replacement surgeries
have led to minimizing pain and recovery time while maximizing function
and range of motion. Currently, Dr. Peters is focused on MIS disc innovations
and next-generation orthopedic products using human protein and growth
factor materials for bone and tissue regeneration.
Dr. Peters is a member of the Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery
(SMISS), North American Spine Society (NASS), American Academy of Orthopaedic
Surgeons (AAOS), the Colorado Medical Society, as well as the Western
